GaragePad: garage remotes on CarPlay
GaragePad is a small Swift app that groups up to four of your saved .sub files into a single widget, each with its own name and icon. One tap on the car’s screen or the Home Screen and the Flipper transmits, with no need to unlock the phone.

The problem
I saved the remotes for my own garage doors on my Flipper Zero and wanted to open them from my car’s screen, with the Flipper in my pocket or the glovebox. The catch: the official app’s widget only fits one button, so with several doors you end up swiping between widgets while driving.
What I did and how it works
- The widget buttons run an App Intent in the background that talks to the Flipper over BLE, using the same serial service and protobuf RPC as the official app.
- The hardest part: starting the app with the file path opens the Flipper’s manual screen, which ignores remote button presses. I had to find another way to start the send.
- CarPlay (since iOS 26) shows small widgets with interactive buttons, and the layout adapts to 1, 2, 3 or 4 buttons.
Technical details
- Send sequence: it starts Sub-GHz in RPC mode, loads the .sub file, sends a button press, holds it for a configurable time (1.5 s by default) and releases it.
- Files are picked by browsing the Flipper’s storage over RPC, no paths to type.

Limits and responsible use
- It only plays files already on your Flipper; it doesn’t record, decode or generate signals. Use it with doors you own and follow your local radio rules.
Usage details
- Free, no ads, no accounts, nothing leaves your phone.
- Close the official app first: the Flipper only accepts one Bluetooth connection.
- Sends made over RPC don’t give the dolphin XP; the firmware only awards it on manual sends.
